I wish we used the word bovine more often. I know it means an ox or buffalo or something, but I like the way it rolls off the tongue… Actually, come to think of it, the tongue isn’t even involved. Nonetheless, I think we should integrate it back into our modern language once again. And this time with a new meaning, like a slang connotation of exuberant approval. “That is so bovine!”
This will be my mark in the world. Let it be known that from this day forward I will give efforts to influence the English language until all will at least understand – if not regularly use – bovine as a word of lively endorsement. The buffalo will one day thank me.
